What Is Love?
God is love! Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God! Love is patient, kind, doesn't take into account a wrong suffered with who? : Parents, children, spouses, friends, co-workers, siblings, relatives, business associates, even your enemies.
How hard is it to love someone that shows love to you? Not very hard! But, why not go the extra mile and even love your enemy? When you do that, the results might surprise you sometimes in a positive way.
If you apply this principle it can turn an enemy into a good friend! If people tried to apply these principles the world would be a much better place for all. Sure the possibility of getting hurt is risky. Are people not worth the risk?
Jesus thought so! He risked loving those that loved him, didn't like him, beat him, flogged him, and crucified him. Everyone has a choice to receive his ultimate sacrifice of love--His own life.
That’s how important to God that loving your enemy is, worth His Son! God is love! Jesus wanted to show us what the Father in heaven was really like, Love! Without faith it is impossible to please God! Faith works by love. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things you can't quite see yet!
If faith works by love and without faith it is impossible to please God, then don't you think it would be a good idea to walk in love as much as possible?
Most people have heard of the Ten Commandments. Some know them some don't. Some live so strongly by them that they break them without even knowing it! They forget to walk in love!
Jesus was asked a question. What are the greatest commandments? Here is His answer: Love the Lord your God with (all) your heart, soul (mind, will, and emotions), and your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. On these to things hang the law (Commandments) and the prophets!
In other words when you walk in love you are living out the Ten Commandments! We all could improve on our love walk.
Remember the golden rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This doesn’t mean do unto others before they do unto you!
Love hopes all things, believes all things (faith), and endures all things! Now out of these three, the greatest is Love!
Multiplied blessings to everyone who reads this blog!
